Our Story
El Fogón Veracruzano was born from a love of family, tradition, and authentic Mexican flavors. Inspired by memories of handmade tortillas and fresh ingredients, we set out to bring the comforting taste of home to our new community in Columbia, Missouri.
Since opening our doors in 2019, we've grown from serving classic antojitos like esquites and paletas to offering a full menu of traditional dishes. Our mission is to serve warm, flavorful food that feels like it came from your grandmother's kitchen.

"This place has some of the best street-style tacos I’ve had since Southern California; all in the cutest and most vibrant restaurant on Broadway. The tortillas were obviously fresh, homemade, and delicious. They have a little salsa station where you can add to your food as you like. The aguas frescas were also amazing. I’ll be back!"

"This place is cute and cozy, with friendly workers and some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in Missouri. Their hot sauce was actually spicy and so good, and the birria tacos were full of meat and cheese and were so flavorful. I would definitely come here again and would absolutely recommend it."
